NO SIGN OF WILDER
Out For Four Months (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 28 The prison escaper George Wilder aged 24. will have been at large four months tomorrow aftei breaking out from the Auckland Prison on January 29 In 1962 he was free for two months after getting away from New Plymouth Prison
On each occasion hundreds of pounds and man-hours have been expended on efforts to catch him Wilder was last seen on April 9 when he abandoned a converted car in the Tidrangi district.
Inquiries into his whereabouts were continuing all tn« time, said the bead of the Auckland police, AssistantCommissioner O. S. W Power, today ’Nothing has been seen ot him since April 9, but we don’t mind waiting,” said Mr Power "Others have been out longer before and have stili been returned to the fold" Wilder was said to possess a good knowledge of bush•’•aft but that did not mean hr was sitting around in the bush “He could be anywhere,” said Mr Power.
