N.Z.-AUST. TRADE

Free Area Products (N.Z Pres* Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, May 28 It is expected that by the end of the year a New Zea-land-Australia committee will be able to present to the two Governments a' list of products for initial inclusion in a tree trade agreement. Agreement to study the possibility of a limited free trade area was reached at a meeting in Wellington between the Australian and New Zealand Trade Ministers, Mr John McEwen and Mr J. R Marshall, last month. Mr McEwen announced that Australia would exclude dairy produce and lamb from the studies. Mr Marshall also reserved the position of a number of manufacturing industries which he did not name. He said these could not be included because they were less advanced than those in Australia. The first meeting of the standing committee will be held today.
