NO ANSWER TO KNOCK
(N.Z Press Assn Copyright) SYDNEY, May 16 Angus Witgell, a 46-year-old aboriginal station band, was sentenced today to five years »imprisonment on a charge of having maliciously burned down a hotel, knowing it to be occupied. Mr Justice Ferguson said in the Supreme Court that WitgeU’s action might well have resulted in the deaths of eight persons. The Court was told that the hotel at Enngoma. New South Wales, was set alight after the publican refused to answer a knock about midnight on March 11.
