H. Faul and Company, Ltd., of which the Deputy-Mayor (Cr C H Faul) is a principal The company’s tender of £9770 was for the heating system to be installed in the new library in Don street It was the lowest of three tenders There was a difference of only £420 between the lowest and the highest. In a letter to the Mayor (Mr N L Watson) the Audit Department said approval of the council's acceptance was
given in view of a council statement that the tender of Faul and Company was the lowest and that the council excluding Cr. Faul. was unanimous in its acceptance Cr. Faul left a recent special council meeting held to discuss tenders for work on the Don street building. The Audit Department has told Mr Watson that Cr.
