BOYS GOING TO RUGBY
Union Calls For Care
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 8. A call for care and supervision of young boys being transported to Rugby games on Saturday mornings was made by the chairman of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union (Mr R. L. Burk) at tonight’s meeting. Mr Burk’s statement was prompted by a letter received from Mr G. Marra, who said he had seen young players narrowly escape injury when the doors of the van in which they were travelling opened. “It is very good of Mr Marra to draw our attention to this danger,’’ said Mr Burk. He asked delegates to draw attention to the need for care and supervision of boys on vehicles and trucks Some clubs, said Mr Burk, had an insurance cover on this risk.
