AWARD OF £1174
Claim After Collision
Stephen Bela Landauer, aged 33. a rubber worker, was awarded damages of £1174 10s Id by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday w'hich found that his negligence had contributed 05 per cent, to an accident in Stanmore road on June 16. 1961. The Chief Justice (Sir Harold Barrowclough) was on the bench.
The jury awarded Landauer £3600. plus special damages of £755 16s 7d, reducible by 65 per cent. The special damages were agreed by both parties if negligence was held proved Landauer claimed £4500 general damages from Constance Agnes Beazley, a married woman, for injuries suffered in a collision between his motor-cycle and a car driven by Mrs Beazley. Mr B. McClelland appeared for the plaintiff and Mr R. P. Thompson, with him Mr J. F. Burn, for the defendant.
