Fletchers £9m Of Contracts

AUCKLAND, May 2. The Fletcher Construction Company, Ltd., had £9 million of uncompleted work on December 31, 1962, compared with a total turn-over of £10.5m in the 1961-62 year. This is disclosed in the prospectus for the £756.000 debenture issue by the parent company. Fletcher Holdings, Ltd., announced on Monday.
Alloy Steel.—Alloy Steel final dividend is 6J per cent., making 10 per cent, for the vear on capita! raised by a two-for-five issue; ex dividend June 6. This equals 14 per cent, on the old capital, compared with 15 per cent., including bonus, last year.
Wilson’s Cement.—-A statement by Wilson’s Cement savs the proposed bonus issue will be dealt with at the next annual genera] meeting which will probably be held on the first Wednesday in July. Shareholders and -others interested will therefore receive appropriate notice during June.— (P.A.) Business Personal Mr Maurice Street, a director of British United Shoe Machinery New Zealand. Ltd., has been appointed chairman of the British United Shoe Machinery Company of Australia, Ltd. His appointment followed the retirement of Mr George Wigney.
Potato Shipments From Timaru
Up to April 30. 10.036 sacks of potatoes had been shipped from Timaru this season compared with 17.386 sacks for the same period last year These included shipments of 9713 sacks to Auckland, 48 to Wellingiton, 50 to Napier and Gisborne and 235 to west coast ports of the North Island.
