3 Directors Named

WELLINGTON, May 2
Provisional directors of the New Zealand Iron and Steel Company were named today by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) The company is being formed to establish the in. dustry The board will consist of Mr W. Fisher, chairman of directors of Fisher and Paykel, Ltd., Auckland, who will be chairman of the new board: Sir Leonard Wright, company director and former Mayor of Dunedin; and Mr E. R. McKillop, former Commissioner of Works. Wellington.
“Other appointments may be made later,” Mr Marshall said.
Associated with the provisional board will be a representative of the Treasury and of the Department of Industries and Commerce. Also available for consultation as and when required will be representatives of other departments having a specialised contribution to make, such as Works, Electricity. D.S.I.R and Mines.
