MELBOURNE, April 25.
New Zealand’s “Miss Travel Hostess,” Annette Pittendrigh, aged 23, came to Australia yesterday with a special request: “Please emphasise that I am not a beauty contest winner.”
Miss Pittendrigh, a Wellington private secretary, won a competition sponsored by the New Zeeland Travel and Holidays Association to find the girl most suitable to act as official hostess for Wellington’s Travel Week. There were 40 contestants. The prize was a trip to Australia.
