Rugby QUEENSLAND BEATEN
Lack Of Team Play (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 25. Queensland lost the second match of its four-game tour of New Zealand when it was beaten by two tries and two penalty goals (12 points) to a try and a penalty goal (6) byCounties at Massey Park on Wednesday. On the form of the first half, at the end of which Queensland led 6-3, the issue still remained open, and so strongly did the Australians play in the second half, that the final result considerably flattered Counties. It was because Queensland, in spite of many virtues, including backs who looked considerably more talented than many of the Wallabies who toured New Zealand last year, did not wholly comprehend the importance of the team rather than the individual attack that Counties managed to win. Counties scored a try which was preceded by a couple of knock-ons, was presented with a penalty that inexperienced teams always give away in moments of excitement, and finally gained a simple try from an interception by the No. 8 of a pass between half-back and five-eighths. P. Dawson, a left-footed kick, scored all Queensland's points, while J. Kirtland and C. Honey scored the Counties tries and G. Hill placed the penalties.
