Pearson and Sons, Ltd. (Rangiora), £3980 9s 2d' Jeal and Skurr (Oxford) £4404 Ils 3d; Wilkins and Davies Construction Company (Christchurch). £5083 Pearsons’ tender was last evening accepted by the council at its monthly meeting after a brief discussion in committee. The council estimated the job would cost about £4675.

The new concrete bridge will comprise two 35ft spans and will be built over the Styx river in Earlham street. Brooklands, about three miles from the Chaneys railway station.
