Oyster Auction
Part of the largest oyster supply of the season was auctioned in Christchurch yesterday Sixty-four sacks brought an average price of £5 12s each. The rest of the supply. 55 sacks, will be auctioned today Prices yesterday ranged from £5 is to £6 3s for sacks weighing between 1421 b and 1681 b. a slight increase on previous sales The quality of the oysters was varied, some being good, while others were very poor. One retailer received about 13 dozen rejects in a supply of 57 dozen.
