Departure For Riccarton

H. A. and H. T. Anderton’s team for the last day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Easter meeting on Saturday left Wingatui this morning for Riccarton.
Myfilou (Autumn Plate). Kumai (Sockburn Handicap), and Tara Hill (Yaldhurst Handicap) will be ridden by the stable horseman. B. J. Anderton.
Ravelston’s engagement In the Peerswlck Hurdles, in which he was handicapped at 10-5. was not continued as his connexions were dissatisfied with his handicap. The team was accompanied by the steeplechaser. No Offence, which will be taken over by the Woodville trainer. J. P. Carter. Last year No Offence did a similar campaign
From H. A Anderton’s stable he was second to Bayline in the Great Western Steeplechase and then won the Riverton and Autumn Steeplechases before joining Carter’s team. In the North Island he won the Hawke’s Bay Steeplechase, and was placed In the Wanganui. Manawatu and Wellington Steeplechases before winning the Lincoln Steeplechase at the Grand National meeting. This year he will rejoin the Anderton team at the Wellington meeting in July. The team is likely to Include Kumai. winner of the Parlia-mentary-Winter Oats double at Trentham last winter, and Port Lanyard winner of the Otaitai and the Autumn Steeplechases at Riverton.
Ravelston’s inclusion in the team will depend on his rating as a hurdler.
Birthright (Sockburn Handicap) and Carpenter (Richmond Handicap) also left this morning for Riccarton. Birthright is trained by J Didham and Carpenter by A E. Didham. Both horses will be ridden by E J. Didham.
