FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A deep depression south-east of the Chatham Islands is moving away south-eastwards. A south-west to west airstream covers New Zealand. Forecast:—
Canterbury.—Light or moderate variable winds, mainly north-easterlies; fine at first; fresh southwesterlies with showers and cold temperatures spreading from the south during the afternoon and evening. Outlook: becoming partly cloudy. West Coast,—South-westerlies, fresh at times; some showers; temperatures cool. Outlook: scattered showers.
Nelson.—Light or moderate variable winds; partly cloudy, apart from a few showers in the ranges; moderate day temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy.
Marlborough.—Light winds at first, but northwesterlies freshening; mainly fine and becoming milder but possibly a few showers in the ranges. Outlook: partly cloudy.
