Fulbright Scholar's Visit
An American Fulbright scholar, who has spent the last nine months studying and teaching in India, arrived in Christchurch yesterday for a 17-day tour of New Zealand. He is Mr J. O. Field, of New York A student of Harvard University, he was awarded the grant in 1962 and spent nine months teaching English at the University of Madras as well as doing some independent research on Indian foreign policy. After touring New Zealand, he will visit Samoa before returning to the United States. Mr Field’s father, Mr W. B O Field, who is a scientist, visited Christchurch in 1957 while doing Antarctic research.
