Building U.K. Hospitals
(Special Crspdt. N.ZP.A.) LONDON, April 14. The total value of hospital building schemes to be started in Britain in the next 10 years will be more than £800,000,000, it was announced in Parliament. This compares with a figure of £700,000,000 for the original 10-year plan from 1962 to 1971.
When the plan was first drawn up it was estimated that the annual birth-rate would be about the 820.000 mark in 1975, but now experts put the estimated figure foi that year at 891.000.
