ASSAULTED IN CAR
Man Attacked In Hokitika (N.Z. Press A ssociatton) HOKITIKA, April 15. A hospital porter, Mr Massey Herbert Woolhouse, aged 51, of Hokitika, was assaulted as he sat in his car outside St. Mary’s Church waiting for his wife and daughter who were attending a service. Mr Woolhouse, who is slightly built, was first struck through the open window When he pressed the car horn to draw attention to the assault, he was pulled from the car and struck again about the face and head. After the assailant made off, Mr Woolhouse, who was in a distressed condition, managed to drive his car to the police station, about 150 yards away. He received medical attention for a severe abrasion on the forehead and was taken to his home.
Police have questioned a man. but no arrest has been made.
