MR ARMSTRONG AND A.S.R.S.
Decision To Be Challenged Mr A. E. Armstrong, who was deposed as secretary of the Canterbury branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, suspended from membership of the society and debarred from taking part in the election for national president, by the national council, has given notice that he Intends to challenge the decision. He said on Saturday he had taken legal advice. * Mr Armstrong said he intended to fight the national council's action on the grounds, inter alia, that the decision was ir.valid and ultra vires; that the proceedings were irregular and in breach of the rules of the society and .hat the hearing offended against the principles of natural justice.
