40 YEARS WITH RAILWAYS
Presentation To Mr G. A. Adamson Forty years’ service with the New Zealand Railways Department ended yesterday for Mr G A. Adamson, passenger yard foreman at Christchurch since 1958 To mark the occasion, Mr Adamson was presented with a filled wallet by his workmates The presentation was made by the chief stationmaster at Christchurch (Mr S. R. Breach). Mr Adamson joined the department as a junior porter at Christchurch in 1923. He later transferred to Christchurch goods. Blackball and \ddiington. He was promoted shunter in 1931 He was on miltary service from 1941 to 1948 After a period as a guard in his return to the department, Mr Adamson was Promoted wharf foreman at Bluff before he returned to Christchurch.
