Women's Cricket WESTERN WINS COMPETITION

All-Rounder Cup To M. Lawson Western won the Sullivan Cup decisively when it beat Technical by 16 runs on the first innings in the final round of the women’s senior cricket competition. Technical was second and St. Albans H third. M. Lawson was presented with the Miles Cup for the best all-rounder in the second grade. Results of Saturday’s matches were:— Western 92 (J. Witte 37 not out. E Woods 20: C. Ferguson five for 8. O. Williams two for 28) beat Technical 78 (C. Ferguson 11, N. Hobson 14, R. Stokes 16 not out P. Prien 10: P. Adair six for 31) on the first innings. St. Albans I 139 for five wickets declared (J. Dickinson 57, A. Colville 41; A. Giles two for 370 beat Mao Moa 125 (A. Giles 91; J. Dickinson five for 23. N. Lawrence two for 27) on the first innings. St. Albans II H (3. Stead 32. G. Franklin 12. M. Skelton 13 not out; 3. Lane five for 42, E. Overend two for 17) lost to Beckenham 101 for six wickets (E. Overend 49 not out, C. Neal 10; 3. Watson four for 28, P. Blackler two for 45) on the first innings.
