Five Strokes Behind IN.Z. Press Assn. —Copprtpht) WILMINGTON, March 29. The American professional. H. Kneece. scored a six-under-scratch 66 yesterday to lead the first round of the 20.000 dollars Azales open golf tournament, United Press International reported. Five strokes back were an Australian. W Dunk, and the New Zealand left-hander', R J. Charles, who were tied with 13 other players for equal 20th placing. Kneece, who shot seven birdies for a 34-32 round, had a one stroke lead over two former United States open champions. J Fleck and G Littler. Charles completed his oneunder scratch first round score in halves of 35 and 36 while Dunk had a 36-35. Kneece won a special 500 dollars prize for his low round The sponsors have put up 2500 dollars in incentive money to be distributed in daily awards.
