Change Sought In N.Z. Open
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 29. The Auckland Golf Association wants the discrimination between professionals and amateurs removed from the final rounds of the New Zealand Open championship.
Last year the number of qualifiers for the final two rounds was set at 30. of whom 16 were to be professionals. In future, Auckland wants the ‘‘best 40 or more” to qualify, irrespective of whether they are professional or amateur.
