NUCLEAR PROTEST

Students Move For March (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. March 20. Otago University students will support a move to hold nuclear disarmament meetings and a protest march in Dunedin. The student council decided to support approaches to the City Council by the Dunedin branch of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. The council will be asked to sponsor local agitation. The executive of the Students’ Association had formerly expressed support of public lectures and discussions but had not committed the stiident body to support the march, the president (Mr W. Broughton told the meeting. The secretary of the Dimedin branch of the campaign 'Mr M W. Taylor) said the branch would ask the council to receive a deputation from a march of citizens protesting against the “risk of nuclear extermination” and urging the Government to exert its influence in international affairs to end the arms race.”
