; Keen Contest i , In B Grade i rS/ ’ (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Mar. 29 Rain held off today when the New Zealand pipe band ch ampi ons Hips were continued at Rotorua. The items were C grade test selection and the B grade quick Step. In the former, Palmerston North City Pipe Band scored an impressive victory, finishing 6.6 points ahead of Strafford and District. In the B grade quick step competition was keen, fewer than four points separating the first four bands. The Whangarei Country and Northland Regimental Band, ■which in the morning won the street march in its grade was again successful, scoring 178.970 points. Hawke’s

Bay ScotVsh (177.737) was second and Metropolitan Highland, Christchurch (175.986) third The City of Wellington Highland Pipe Band won the A grade street march with a total of 47.306 points. The Timaru Highland Pipe Band was fourth with 45.587 points, and the Scottish Society of New Zealand Pipe Band, Christchurch. was seventh with 45.17 points.
