SHAKING HANDS
Attempt On Record (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N„ March 28. A Massey University College student, “Fred Bear." will attempt to break a world hand-shaking record tomorrow. The record stands at 10.292, and Fred believes he can smash this by averaging one ha nd-s', take every three seconds. The stunt has been organised as part of the Massey University College capping week which w.ll begin on Monday. The Mayor of Palmerston North (Mr G. M. Rennie) will start hands pumping when he shakes Fred’s hand outside the Council Chambers at 10.30 am. tomorrow. After that Fred and a small band will set themselves up in the Square. Fred hopes to finish shaking at 7.30 pm.
