MATERNITY GRANTS
Increases For Hospitals (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 28. Increased Social Security fees are to be paid to hospital boards and licensed maternity hospitals for maternity services. Daily payment is increased from £1 15s 6d to £2 ss. under regulations gazetted today. The new fee will be payable from April 1. Other regulations alter the fees for treatment of inpatients in hospitals. The present rate is 28s a day in “A” class private hospitals and 22s a day in ‘‘B" class private hospitals. After April 1. payment will be based on the treatment given—£2 a day for surgical treatment and 28s a day for medical treatment.
