New Board Fence
There will still be a board fence to jump on the steeplechase course al Riccarton for the Grand National carnival this winter. CJjC. workmen demolished the board fence near the mile at Riccarton last week, but will replace it with another. The old fence had rotted in places. The new one will have a lean of 18 inches to TMt the demands of recent regulations, and it has been raised two inches. A live fence will be planted on the approach side. The old fence was 3ft 6in high with a six-inch lean. It had a ditch in front of it
