Frome-B.H.P. £3.6m Search For Oil
(N.ZP.A. -Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Mar. 28. Frome-Broken Hill Pty., Ltd., a company engaged in the search for oil’ in Victoria, had spent £3.611,426 on oil exploration to December 31 last. This is shown in a balance sheet filed at the Companies Registration Office. The company is jointly owned by Mobil Oil Australia, Ltd., Interstate Oil. Ltd. and B.P. Exploration Company, Ltd. The directors say in their report that two new issues totalling £ 390,000 were made during the'year. They say these issues financed further oil exploration, mainly in the Otway Basin area in South-Western Victoria.
