UNIVERSITY WOMEN
Break With N.C.W. Supported A move for the New Zealand Federation of University Women to disaffiliate from the National Council of Women of New Zealand was supported by the Canterbury branch of the federation at its annual meeting last evening. Some members said that university women could render valuable service in the National Council of Women by supplying specialised knowledge, but others said they could best serve their communities by channelling their activities into less wide fields. It was decided to forward the resolution to the Dominion executive for its information. The Canterbury branch resolution will come before the next conference of the federation.
The following officers were elected:—president, Mrs O. D. Suggate; vice-presidents, Miss N. Nortihcroft, MeSdames C. H. Perkins, A. P. Blair; secretary, Miss' E. M. Trounce; assistant secretary, Mrs H. E. Garrett; treasurer, Mrs T. K. Williams; committee, Mesdames N. J. Bewley, D. Kidd, J. G. Rawson, A. B. Ryan, and J. Garrett.
