Flew 5000 Miles To Escape Winter
(N Z.P.A .•Reuter—Copyright) LUSAKA (Rhodesia). A small brown bird, which flew more than 5000 miles to escape the rigours of the Scandinavian winter, has died under a mango tree in tropical Africa. Mr Joseph Mulenga, a Lusaka student, picked up the brown garden warbler and found on its left leg a tiny ring bearing the inscription. “P 83307 Mus Z Hiki Finland.” A biologist from the Northern Rhodesian Game and Fisheries Department. said she bird had been tagged by someone working for a Helsinki museum.
