COACH FROM OVERSEAS
C.C.A. Asking For Grant The Canterbury Cricket Association is to apply to the New Zealand Cricket Council tor a grant so that an overseas coach may be engaged for next season and the two following seasons if possible. Mr W. A. Hadlee Said that the council had nearly £lOOO which would be divided among associations interested- to obtaining a coach. Mr A. B. MaeGlbbon said that the coaching sub-commit-tee would prefer a young man who could also represent Canterbury in Plunket shield Cricket He added that a name player would be preferable, ant said that “F. J. Titmus would be the ideal type." Lancaster Park has been selected by the grading committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association as the senior team to . play Technical Old Boys (winner of the second grade A competition) on April 6. The chairman (Mr J. T. Eltoft) said victory will not necessarily mean promotion for Technical. The game will be of one day’s duration. Because of this match conflicting with the Canterbury colts’ fixture against Hutt Valley, Mr A. G. Duckmanton asked that no Lancaster Park players be considered for the representative match.
