AIR FARES INCREASE
Australian Rises Lower (N2. Pres* AnocteNon) AUCKLAND, March 26. Air fares from Australia to New Zealand will be increased next month, according to an announcement by Qantas in Sydney today. <e highest rise is 12s in the first-class fare from Sydney to Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. This compares with a £4 12s increase in the fare from Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch to Sydney announced on Monday. The economy fare from Sydney is raised by about 9s 8d (New Zealand currency), compared with New Zealand rises o' £1 9s.
The only other Australian fare affected is from Brisbane to Auckland or Wellington, where the first-class increase is about Ils 2d. The equivalent New Zealand increase is 13s.
