NELSON RETAINS LUCAS CUP
Narrow Victory At Greymouth (From OOr Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. Feb. 24. In an inter-association tennis match in Greymouth on Satur-’ day. Nelson, which brought the trophy on tour, beat West Coast at Greymouth for the Lucas Cup, by ten rubbers to six. That it was a very keen contest is shown by the fact that Nelson won 20 sets to 17, and 165 games to 163. The Nelson women proved too strong and that was the deciding factor in the visitors’ sue-

Women's Singles.—Miss J. Shanahan beat Miss E. Ogilvie. 6-3, 3-6, 6-4; Mrs J. Goodall beat Mrs S. Brown. 6-3, 6-2; Mrs B. Plum beat Mrs C. Dunne. 6-2, 6-3; Mrs N. Page beat Mrs M. Woollett, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
