Author Refuses £30,000 Offer (NJ!. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, February 22. An Australian author has rejected a £30,000 offer for film rights of his book “John Knatchbull.” He is Dr. Colin Roderick, whose book is due to be published on March 7. ‘The John Knatchbull story is one with a serious meaning in our history,’’ Dr. Roderick said today. “I don’t want to see it distorted, romanticised and sensationalised completely out of character.” John Knatchbull was the son of Sir Edward Knatchbull and was transported to Australia for theft in 1824. He was hanged for murder in 1844.
