Poet s Pride beat Fine Time to the post by half a head in the Flying Handicap on the first day of the Egmont Racing Club s summer meeting at Hawera on Saturday. Tom Foolum beat Blue Blade when he raced home half a length clear in the feature race of the day, the Egmont Cup. Although the track was slightly easy early in the day it dried out rapidly.
