Baker or Tottenham’s P. Smith should lead the England attack against France in the European Nations Cup on Wednesday, could not have learned much. The pitch was covered with hard-packed snow, giving a firm surface against probable heavy going in Paris on Wednesday.
At another London ground, Millwall's. fighting broke out after Wrexham. 4-2 winners, had scored its last goal. A policeman was struck and kicked, and a spectator was carried off by five policemen. Tlte referee and the Wrexham team were pelted with snowballs as they left the pitch.
