Details were:— United 267 for four wicket* (Paul Haglund 50. C. Blakely 50, Peter Haglund 50 not out. R. Harris 68; M. Brown two for 16) beat-Akaroa 134 (J. Carrodu* 85: R. Harris five for 36. P»ul Haglund two for 12) and 120 (J. Carrodu* 51, B. Woodal) 34; R. Harris four for 52. R. Kay four for 31) by an inning* and 13 runs.
Kaltuna 178 for five wickets (D. Turner 48. L. Lanauze 52. N. Allan 58 not out; L Forbes four tor 47) beat Le Bon* 100 (N. Sline 31. T. Johnson 25, C. McKay 30; N. Allan four for 46, R. Lanauze three for 1) on the first innings.
Little River 248 for six wicket’ (L. Morrison 87, K. Howarth 88, D. Draviroki 42: R. Weir two for 33. D. McPhail two for 39) beat Wainul 219 (G. Terry 80, R. Weir 38:' M. Barclay five for 59, P. Walker three for 27) on the first innings. Competition point* are:— Little River 86, Kaitun* 86. United‘Bo, Le Bon* 68. Akaroa 50, Wainul 36.
94-Run Stand For Indians (NJte. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BOMBAY, February 24. A seventh wicket stand of 94 run* in 85 minute* rallied the Cricket Club of India to the respectable total of 228 against the Commonwealth Cavadiers when a three-day match began on Saturday. After six wicket* had gone for 91 in 105 minute*,. Chandu Borde, the Indian test player, and Hanumant Singh, a promising youngster, mastered the howling. Borde made 79 and Singh 70. The Cavaliers also made a bad stert, losing throe for 45. But the Australian captain. R Benaud (39). and hl* te«t colleague B. Shepherd (29). took f 01 1!! , wlth “ unfinished fourth wicket stand of 67 tat 90 mtnutas. The Cavalier* were 112 for three at the cloee.
