Ashburton In Trouble

Ashburton finished the second day of the Hawke Cup cricket challenge in a hopeless position against the holder. Nelson.
Trailing by 262 in the first innings, Ashburton had scored 95 for six wickets in the second innings at stumps to be still 167 runs behind.
The top scorer in the Nelson innings by 347 for eight wickets declared were the Central Districts players, B. L. Hampton (100) and B. E. Congdon (90).
