(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, February 20. A £3 million cargo service between Sydney and Hobart and Melbourne and Hobart was announced by the manager for Australia of the Union Steam Ship Company, Mr P. E. Trevella, today.
Now under construction in Whyalla shipyards, the vessels had been named the Seaway King and the Seaway Queen. They were expected to go into service in March and April, 1964. Their service speed of 16J knots, would make them the fastest ships operating on the Australian coast, Mr Trevella said.
