SMITHFIELD MARKET
Some Lamb Easier (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 22. The market information service of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board reports that there were heavy supplies of meat on the Smithfield Market, London, this week. There were large pitchings of home-killed, Argentine and Yugoslav beef. There was a fair inquiry for moderate pitchings of New Zealand lamb. Prices of the heavier weights were steady but there was further decline in the lighter weights. The main grade ,29/361b) was quoted Jci per lb below last week’s figure New Zealand ewe mutton prices advanced slightly *at 9jd to 13Jd per lb. Hoggets and wethers were steady, with hoggets at 14d to 16d per lb. and wethers at 11 Jd to 14d per lb.
