(From Our Otim Reporter) DUNEDIN, February 31. Omasong, a sister of Melody Mand and the ill-fated Omaha, soundly beat her II two-year-old rivals in the Dunedin Handleap at Wtagatui today. Omasong is trained at Riceerton by P. H. Jones, whose wife races the Oman filly ta partnership with Mr T. N. Syme. She was a rather unhieky second at Wtagatui when having her first start on the first day of the Dunedin Cup meeting. She was galloped on in that race and did not appear again until last Saturday, when she ran greenly after starting wide out to the Hampton Court Handicap at Royal Riecarton. Omasong accelerated quickly from No. 3 today and led all the way. Mort of her rivals were battling to stay tn touch before the home turn and none could strike a blow at her in the straight.
