Association Elects Officers
The retiring president of the Canterbury Indoor Bowls Association (Mr M. D Penney) was elected to life membership of the association at its annual meeting. There were 53 delegates and 43 other bowlers present.
In nis report Mr Penney said that the last season had been without a doubt the busiest and biggest in the history of the game An increase had been shown in the number of affiliated clubs and members. There were now 136 clubs, with 5278 members. - Officers elected were:—
Patron, the Mayor (Mr G Manning); president. Mr E. G Smith; vice-presidents. Messrs R. Hogwood and P. Taylor; auditor. Mr A. Wills; publicity officer, Mrs A. Tointon; . committee, Messrs R. Fridd, V Marshall, R Foote. P. Osborne W Cooper. H Lack. D Cox A Blanch. D. Cook. A. Hearn J Greer, and D. A F. Smith.
