ELLESMERE WINS JUNIOR CUP
Ellesmere beat Malvern by an innings and 10 runs in a two-day match for the Canterbury Cricket Sub-association's Junior Cup. which ended at Lincoln yesterday. Although almost 200 runs behind on the first innings, Malvern made a valiant effort to extend Ellesmere In the second innings. M. Frew made an attractive 70 and B. Farnsworth showed distinct promise in both innings. Ellesmere's strength was tts depth of batting talent. Six of its batsmen made between 27 and 47—and at a good rate The side’s 311 runs were scored in 280 minutes. Details were:—
