Cheque clearings In the four weeks ended December 19 last year totalled £618.3m, or 30 per cent, more than in the comparable period of 1961. At the later date deposits totalled £ 342.1 m and advances £ 187 m. Un exercised overdraft authorities were £ 146.7 m. Total credit limits rose £7m over the 12 months.
