Appeal For Clothes And Blankets
C.0.R.5.0. has received an urgent appeal tor 2000 blankets, 2000 jumpers and pullovers. and 2000 cotton shirts for refugee children from Tibet. The children are reported to be in desperate need, and the Wings of Friendship organisation in London has written to C. 085.0. asking for New Zealand’s help. The number of Tibetan refugees in India is constantly increasing, because of the Chinese border dispute. As a result of Indian Army requirements, it is not possible to obtain blankets in the area where the children have been placed for safety, and from all reports their needs are desperate The clothing and blankets can be left at any C.0.R.5.0. district office, or if it is not convenient to leave them, C.0.R8.0. wiU arrange for them to be collected and taken to the depots flor packing and shipment.
