(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Feb. 14.

Imports of Oregon timber to New Zealand, which cost the country £240,000 last year, were not necessary, said Dr. M. S. Hudson, an American wood preservation and treatment expert, in Rotorua today.

The need for importing Oregon was eliminated because locally-grown radiata pine had equal strength, he said.
