The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) will arrive in Christchurch tomorrow evening from Dunedin. He will be in attendance on Her Majesty during the Royal visit to Christchurch. Mr Holyoake and Mrs Holyoake will stay in Christchurch until after the departure of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh next Monday. The Very Rev. Father Joseph Buckley, world superior of the Society of Mary, who is normally stationed in Rome, is visiting Auckland on his way to Noumea, where he will start a tour of the Western Oceania section of his world-wide parish.—(P.A.) Professor A. J. Danks, professor of economics, University of Canterbury, was elected president of the New Zealand Association of Economists at the annual meeting in Wellington. Other officers were: Vice-president, Mr J. V. T. Baker (Government Statistician); committee, Dr. C. A. Blyth and Messrs J. W. Rowe and A. R. Low.
