Soccer DRAW AGAIN POSTPONED
Fifth' Round In Britain
(N .Z.P. A.-Reuttr—Copyright) LONDON, February 12. The draw for th* fifth round of the English Football Association Cup was today postponed for the third time, because of the backlog of fixtures du* to bad weather.
The FA. Challenge Cup committee decided that fifth-round ties would be played on March 16 and the draw for that round would take place on March 5. The sixth round would be played on March 30—the original date for th* semi-finals.
The new date for the semifinals would be discussed next Monday. The Scottish Football League took action today in an attempt to sort out th* fixture chaos. It laid down a provisional league programme for Saturday (February 16) that took precedence over all but Scottish third-round cup ties. There were only two third round game* scheduled for Saturday. Saturday had been left blank for the third,round of the cup, but today’s nine Scottish ties were again postponed. Now only tomorrow and Thursday remained to get the competition up .to date. If Airdrie managed to beat Stranraer in the cup by Thursday, it would meet Rangers in the league on Saturday and then Rangers again in the second round of the cup on Mondayweather permitting.
Steamer Sinks.—The German steamer, Flacthsee (1355 tons), sank in the English Channel tonight after a collision in fog with a Canadian cargo ship. Ail the crew were rescued.—London, February 11.
