Registration Of Factories
To Tuesday, 1829 out of 2174 factories in the Chrirtohurch district- had reregistered their premises with the Labour Department. “K is the best response we can recollect,” the district superintendent of the Labour Department (Mr C. P. Collins) said. “However, we always have a small residue of regular defaulters." Notices to factory proprietors requiring them to register their premises by February 1 were sent by the department on January 18 The registration fees range from IQs a year for factories employing from two to five workers to £lO for premises where more than 100 are employed.
