CHARITABLE BEQUESTS

City Woman’s Will

Bequests to Roman Catholic orders in New Zealand and Ireland amounting to almost £9OOO have been made in the will of Mrs Mary Dolan, a widow, who died at Christchurch on Christmas Day. Probate of her estate has been granted in the Supreme Court. It was sworn at under £9500. Mrs Dolan left £5OO to the Spanish Point Convent, Miltown, Eire; and bequests of £3OO each to the Enistymen Convent, County Clare; the Ennis Convent, County Clare, and the Kilrush Convent, County Clare. She bequeathed £lOOO to the Sisters of Nazareth, for the benefit of Nazareth House, Christchurch. After making private bequests of £5OO, Mrs Dolan left the residue to the following in equal shares:— St. Vincent de Paul Society, Christchurch; Catholic Church, New Brighton; the Good Shepherd Sisters of Mount Magdala; St. Joseph Sisters, Shirley; Sisters of Mercy, Christchurch; Mission Sisters, Christchurch; Sisters of Compassion, Timaru; Marist Brothers, Christchurch; St. John of God Brothers, Christchurch; Little Company of Mary, Calvary Hospital; Mill Hill Fathers, Auckland; St. Columban Mission, Lower Hutt; Sisters of the Holy Faith, Christchurch; Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Christchurch; New Zealand Leper Trust Board; Marist Fathers, Christchurch; Cluny Sisters, Christchurch, and the Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary, Wellington.
